Dear Affiliates: Beginning March 6, 2002, CommunityArchitect will begin offering domain registration services during the signup process for your community. New members will be allowed to register any available .com, .net, .org, .biz or .info domain at $35 per year. They can also choose to transfer any existing registered domain and host it within your community. These new services will be plugged in automatically. All users who chose to register or transfer a domain name to your services will enjoy the same branding, look and feel and banner ads as all current members. Our research has shown that those who register their own domains are more active and offer higher quality Web sites. Best of all, they are more likely to upgrade their site in the future. This means a higher quality community with increased revenue-share opportunities for you! --> Revenue Sharing Domain names present a great opportunity for additional revenue from your community. CommunityArchitect.com will pay you a $2.50 bounty per year of domain registration. That means if a domain is registered for 5 years, you get $12.50! This bounty will be a one-time payment and will not recur on a monthly or annual basis. You are compensated for their designated registration length upfront. Some CommunityArchitect communities are receiving sizeable monthly revenue-share checks--don't get left out! Adding domain name registration into the mix will only increase that. We suggest that you advertise this new option as you will benefit directly from increased signups and exposure. All current policies under the upgrade revenue-share will remain in effect. --> Additional Domain Names We realize that some current members may want to upgrade to their own domain name. Currently, they must signup for a new site under the new signup process. A domain manager utility is under development which will allow your members to add multiple domains to their single account. This will be available soon. For now, they must sign up for an additional account. --> Can I Turn Off Domain Registration? Some communities may not want to offer upgrade options or domain name registration services. We can't understand why, but we respect this as your option. By default, your site will accept upgrades and domain name registrations, but you may turn those options off by accessing the "Community Settings" area within your Affiliate Admin. We are excited for this new opportunity both for you and your community members. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank You CommunityArchitect.com
