Community Architect "Can Spam" adoption and it's impact on Affiliates.
Because members of partners who offer Community Architect products
and services (namely hosting and domain registration) receive
periodic e-mail communications related to their own web sites,
it is interpreted that the new Can Spam Laws may be applicable to
Community Architect (and thus partners of Community Architect).
In an effort to meet the restrictions of the new Can Spam Law, we've made
the following modifications to our existing mass e-mail communications.
1. E-MAIL NEEDS A VALID REPLY-TO ADDRESS
Instead of sending "from" tips@(your community domain),
we've modified the from field to be "tips@communityarchitect.com"
Because of the number of communities (and their corresponding domains)
that exist on the community architect platform, its much
more difficult to ensure that tips@(your community domain) is
(1) a deliverable address, and (2) an address which is actively
monitored and responded to. By using tips@communityarchitect.com
we simplify this problem greatly.
2. E-MAIL MUST INCLUDE THE PHYSICAL ADDRESS OF THE SENDER
At the bottom of e-mail communications, the opt-out instructions
include the name and physical address of
who administers the Community Architect Affiliate Program.
Please note: The power to convey your own brand is still very
important to us. The e-mail continues to render using your
partner branding, only the items mentioned are altered to meet
compliance issues.
Remember, you can always test the member experience
by signing up test accounts through your partner.
(If you have feedback, please let us know. We look forward to
continuing to help you build the power of your brand through
our tools and services.)
