Over
the past eight months, you may have noticed an increased
focus on Premium Hosting Packages with increased
revenue-share for each paid upgrade. To continue
providing you with the maximum revenue opportunities,
we will be repositioning our hosting offerings to
provide your members with increased Web space, file
sizes and additional features. As a result, the
free offering will also become more limited. Review

Member
Upgrades are finally here! For each one of your
members that upgrades to a bannerless site you will
be credited $1/month. As soon as your balance reaches
at least $50.00 we will issue you a check. You can
increase your monthly revenue by advertising the
bannerless upgrades on your site. The more members
you can convince to upgrade, the more money you'll
make.

Over
the next few months, we will be releasing various
member upgrades. The first upgrade will be a bannerless
upgrade. Your members will be presented the option
to pay a monthly fee to have the banners removed
from their site(s). As a partner, you benefit from
member upgrades because you earn a portion of the
revenue. For each active bannerless upgrade, your
account will be credited $1/month. When your account
reaches a balance of at least $50.00, a check will
be sent to you within 30 days after the last day
of the month.

Start
off the new year with an upgrade to our Premier
solution!
The Premier solution includes the same great tools
as our co-branded solution, but for a very low cost
will be private-labeled and branded with your look
and feel. All Community Architect logos and branding
will be removed from the tools. You also have the
option of receiving 100% of the banner space or
removing the banners that run on the end-user pages.

As
mentioned in our previous notice, we have reached
a point where a new network is required to sustain
the incredible growth our program is experiencing.
This network will greatly enhance the reliability,
speed, maintenance, and scalability of your Web
Community. During the next 6-8 weeks, we will be
transitioning all partner utilities and end-user
sites to our new network.
The
transition will occur partner by partner, along
with their end-user sites. Your site and end-user
sites will be viewable during the transition. However,
during the day of the transition, the following
tools may be briefly affected:

All administrative utilities
- End-user
signups
-
End-user's ability to upload to a site
Before
& After the Transitioning you will need to do
the following:
-
Save custom survey responses because the data
will not be ported over
-
If you have a custom survey, you will need to
re-create it on the new system
-
If you offer web-based e-mail to your community
members, you will need to enter the e-mail branding
section of your administration area after the
transition and customize the e-mail branding
We
will e-mail your members to inform them of the move
and what to expect.
Once
on the new network, you and your members will notice
a number of changes:

"Powered by Community Architect" logos
instead of "North Sky" logos

Sign-up form streamlined
- Additional
Site Builder templates for end-users

New banner frame
-
Slightly different look to the "My Member" area
- Corkboard
- Community

Thank
you for your continued participation in our community
tools program - we are growing at an ever-increasing
rate! We have the following three announcements
that you should be aware of:
1. After reviewing
the success of the banner share, we have decided
to give you an even higher percentage of the banner
space. Effective on Tuesday, September 5, the banner
share will increase to a 50/50 split.
2. Recently
we reached full capacity on some of our Web servers.
This may have caused some of your community members
to experience related problems. To remedy the situation,
we have freed up a significant amount of space on
those servers. In addition, we will be moving to
a new architecture very shortly. This new architecture
will include virtually unlimited scalability and
increased reliability and speed.
3. Due to low
adoption rates and use, we began to question how
valuable our proprietary instant messenger (Gab!)
is in attracting members to your community and promoting
interaction between existing members. Discussions
with partners confirmed our concerns, and we have
therefore decided to discontinue offering Gab!.
While this is a difficult decision for us, we will
be working to re-dedicate our current Gab! resources
to developing functionality that will generate and
integrate traffic throughout your community.
We
will continue to support Gab! until we move to our
new architecture. At that time, Gab! will be removed
from the Community Set-up, and new members will
not be able to sign up for the service. In the meantime,
please disable any new Gab! sign-ups in the following
manner:
· First, go to your administrative area.
· Then go to Community Set-up. Under "Community
Settings", select "Don't Include" for the instant
messenger.
· Click the "Save partner info changes" button.
This will remove all reference to Gab! on your site,
and new members will not have the option of signing
up. Members currently using Gab! may continue to
use Gab! until November 15, after which Gab! will
no longer be operational. |
